Characters with white hair are always a win in my book! It is like once a creator commits to a character with white hair he must make an extra effort to help him or her stick out from the crowd. While usually associated with advanced age in the real world, white hair or silver hair is a perfectly natural hair color in fiction for characters of all ages. Also, since white hair is associated with the spirit world, there seem to be a lot of white-haired supernatural characters in fiction. From Geralt of Rivia to Daenerys Targaryen, in this list, I will count down the 20 greatest characters with white hair.
20/20. White Rabbit (DC Comics)
Jaina Hudson can duplicate herself into two separate beings, one of whom is her villainous alter ego White Rabbit. However, her Bio-Fission power causes some changes in White Rabbit’s body, such as her skin tone getting lighter and her hair becoming white. The coolest thing is that once divided, Jaina and White Rabbit become totally separate characters, with their own traits and opinions. White Rabbit has proved remarkably quick, being able to outrun even Batman. And get this – she did it while wearing her familiar thigh-high boots with long spiked heels!
19/20. 2B (NieR:Automata Game)
Created by human survivors to fight the machine lifeforms that have invaded the planet, 2B is a combat android naturally adept in battle. With her armory of weapons, this masked warrior is tasked with eradicating all machine life. With stark white hair and a black dress, 2B is bound to make you the life of any cosplay party!

The Twins are Exiles – programs that lost purpose in the machine city, and therefore faced with deletion. As such, they retreated to the Matrix forever. Like every Exile, they carry a code that they can use to hack the Matrix reality and implant abilities into themselves. It is not exactly clear why the Twins became Exiles. Like many others, they might have been rendered obsolete. However, it is obvious that they are very infamous with the Agents of the Matrix and that they have ghost-like abilities. The twin characters have white hair with dreads and white eyes, which suits perfectly their “Ghost programs” characterization.
17/20. Pai Mai (Kill Bill Movies)
Pai Mai may be the only character on this list whose white hair is age-related. After all, the leader of the White Lotus Clan is more than a thousand years old. He is a legendary master of Kung Fu, and a teacher of Bill, Elle Driver, and Beatrix Kiddo. His skills are obviously beyond human capacity, as he was able to single-handedly slaughter everyone in the Shaolin temple just because he was cranky. A great example of his superhuman abilities is how he balanced himself perfectly on the flat of Beatrix’s blade. A feat no regular man can achieve! Among his most outstanding techniques are the Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique and the Three Inch Punch.
16/20. Bryan Fury (Tekken Game)
After Bryan Fury was gunned down in a shootout, he was brought back to life by the mysterious Doctor Abel as a psychotic cyborg. Thanks to the cybernetic enhancement that he received from Abel, Bryan’s body surpasses that of most humans in the Tekken series. For example, he once ripped a tank’s cannon and then threw it around. He even Punched his archenemy Yoshimitsu through a wall. With all that to his side, no wonder Bryan is considered Dr. Abel’s biggest success. His white hair and haircut remind me a lot of Roy Batty’s, who is also on this list.
15/20. Kida (Atlantis: The Lost Empire Disney Animated Film)
I had to have a Disney princess on this list! Full name Kidagakash Nedakh, Kida is the daughter of Kashekim Nedakh, King of Atlantis. Like all members of the Atlantean race, Kida is a black female character with white hair. It appears that her design is a merger of a few different races, particularly African and Scandinavian. Kida is known to be several thousand years old but appears to be in the prime of her youth.
14/20. Ravager (DC Comics)
Daughter of the world’s most expensive mercenary Deathstroke, Rose Wilson is the Ravager, a member of the Teen Titans. Her father secretly injected Rose with the same serum that gave him his enhanced abilities, perfecting her mental abilities and giving her flawless accuracy and precision. Rose was then trained by Deathstroke and later by Dick Grayson to perfect her abilities. She was so faithful to her father that to prove her loyalty she gouged out an eye to match her dad’s missing eye. Rose has white hair, one blue eye, and wears an eyepatch on the other.

Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat, is a thief. Alternatively, as she puts it: “I’m a thief. Born a thief. Raised a thief. Will die a thief.” Black Cat is an extremely strong agile woman and a talented fighter. Strong and talented enough to keep up with Spidey himself on multiple fighting occasions. She also has Tychokinesis, which is the power to cause bad luck to happen to her enemies. This ability to manipulate probabilities around her is powerful, to the point that even magical spells fail to harm him. Felicia Hardy can also alter her physical appearance: i.e. hair color to white, as well as drastically increase her height and muscle mass.
12/20. Roy Batty (Blade Runner Movie)
A Nexus-6 combat model replicant, Roy Batty is one of the most memorable villain characters in movie history. He was the leader of a renegade replicant team that arrived on Earth to demand a longer lifespan. In some ways, it is even hard to consider him a villain, even if he did kill quite a few people, as he is being hunted and only wants more life. Batty has a shock of white hair that probably doesn’t indicate his age, as replicants only exist for four years, then stop functioning. They are “made” a certain way and that’s how they look for the whole four years. Either that or his hair is stylistically bleached white to indicate “different”, “future”, “not human”, etc.
11/20. Ursula from The Little Mermaid (Disney Animated Film)
Half-woman, half-octopus, Ursula seeks to install herself as ruler of the entire ocean. In her quest, Ursula manipulated Ariel to sign a bad deal during her lowest point and stole her voice. Ursula has very powerful magical abilities, such as creating spells, including mass transfer, as well as physically altering people’s bodies. Ursula has short white hair and gray eyes that are surrounded by a darker shade than the rest of her face.
10/20. Danny Phantom in his Ghost Form (Cartoon)
During a lab accident, Danny Fenton, an ordinary school student turned into a half-human/half-ghost hybrid. Since then, he took on the alter ego “Danny Phantom” to protect the world from dangerous ghosts that escape the Ghost Zone. As the ghostly superhero, Danny has snow-white hair and glowing green eyes with a faint white glow that surrounds his entire body. Thanks to his supernatural physiology, Danny possesses super strength and speed. A few of his greatest feats are: defeating three of the most powerful ghosts – Ghost King, Undergrowth, and a future version of himself that fused both his own and the ghost half of Vlad. That third one in particular is huge because he alone was strong enough to terrorize the entire Ghost Zone and Earth with a power that developed with age.

Let’s get one thing straight – Draco Malfoy is a bully! He is awful. And fine with murdering people and collateral damage so long as he’s not the one pulling the trigger. He’s a spoiled brat. However, you have to admit that growing up with such horrible, racist parents would likely take a toll on a person’s mentality. On the bright side, he possessed several impressive magical abilities and is capable of love, as he cared deeply about both his parents. Draco’s sleek shocking white hair and cold grey eyes. Tom Felton, the actor who plays Draco, had to dye his hair and eyebrows for ten years to get that look.
8/20. Jorgen Von Strangle (The FairlyOdd Parents Cartoon)
The strongest fairy in Fairy World, Jorgen is mostly remembered for his big chin and less for his little white marine hairdo. However, there’s a joke running around that his head is shaped like the number five, because of his giant chin and flattop hair. However, Jorgen is not one to be ridiculed! He is the Fairy who enforces “Da Rules”, and as such he has very strong cartoon-style magic. This means that he can do basically whatever you think of. In fact, in the crossover with Jimmy Neutron, he created a bomb that was going to destroy two universes. That makes him multiversal!! in terms of magic.

Pietro Maximoff, aka Quicksilver, is a mutant whose body is adapted to high-speed running. As such, he is capable of some amazing feats: He once disarmed a bomb between the words “blow” and “up”, ran so fast he set the ground on fire, and ran 5 Mach which is 3,800 MPH. It seems like he inherited his white-silver hair from his father Magneto. That is Hair color is one of the more common traits to pass down among mutants. Either that or he has silver hair to match his name.
6/20. Kakashi Hatake (Naruto Anime Series)
I know this isn’t an anime list! However, I am looking for the greatest characters with white hair in fiction and Kakashi is one of them. He is such a popular character. He is Sasuke Uchiha, Naruto Uzumaki, and Sakura Harun’s teacher. He became the Sixth Hokage, which is a symbol of his talent as a Ninja. Just like his father, who strongly resembles, Kakashi has spiky silver hair and red eye. His left eye is damaged because of an injury he sustained during the Third Shinobi World War.

Let’s get one thing straight: There’s a heck of a difference between Gandalf the Grey and Gandalf the White! As the Grey Pilgrim, Gandalf was sent to Middle-Earth to contest the influence of Sauron and to seed his downfall. This is the Gandalf most of us remember from the Peter Jackson films. However, Gandalf had to give his life to save the Fellowship of the ring from a Balrog. He “died” and his spirit was taken “out of thought and time,” only to be re-clothed in mortal form and sent back to the shores of Middle-Earth to see his task finished. It is implied that Eru Ilúvatar himself – God of the Lord of the Ring universe – intervened for Gandalf to change the fate of Middle-Earth. In his continued service to Middle-earth, Gandalf now had new white robes instead of the gray ones that were weathered and dirty. He also got white and more managed hair and a new, powerful staff. After this transformation, he became more powerful and unveiled more of his hidden powers. Also, his position in the White Council was elevated by his new status.
4/20. Cable (Marvel Comics)
Cable is the son of X-Men member Cyclops and Jean Grey’s clone Madelyn Pryor. His real name is Nathan Summers and he belongs to the future but returns to the present in the comics. Because Cable was designed as a weapon for Mr. Sinister to use against Apocalypse, he is ultra-powerful and has mastery of many psionic and psychic abilities – much more than any foe would assume. He is powerful enough to take on entire teams of heroes and villains by himself. He did it against the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, the X-Men, and the Avengers! Need I say more about how powerful he is? For all of Cable’s existence in Marvel Comics, he has always sported his trademark head of silver or white hair. It is not clear why he has white hair, but it seems his hair started going gray as a teen. It can be related to the strain that his immense powers put on his body.
3/20. Daenerys Targaryen (Game of Thrones HBO TV Show)
With an unending list of titles like Mother of Dragons and Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Daenerys is a royal pick for this list of white-haired characters, and she deserves the 3rd spot! From initially a timid, obedient girl, Dany became a mighty conqueror who amassed gigantic power. Her tell is a tragic story of how good intentions and unlimited power can and will ultimately destroy you. Like all Targaryens, Dany has silvery white hair. It is said that they all share this trademark white hair thanks to generations of inbreeding and incestuous relationships.

Geralt’s unique hair color is a result of the great tolerance he showed to the mutagens that grant Witchers their abilities. Because of his tolerance, he was put through further experiments that caused his hair to go white and his skin too pale, which is how he got the nickname The White Wolf. However, these experiments also made him more enhanced than your average Witcher. The additional mutagens mean that Geralt has quick reflexes, better strength, and sharp senses compared to the other Witchers. That’s also why he is referred to as “the most skilled swordsman”. Geralt is also one of the most experienced Witchers and has survived events that no other of his colleagues did.
1/20. Storm (Marvel Comics)
I guess it comes as no surprise that my top pick for this list of greatest characters with white hair is Ororo Munroe, aka Storm. She is one of the most famous members of the X-men ever and one of the most powerful mutants on Earth! Not only can she control the weather, but she can also perceive and manipulates several forms of energy related to atmospheric phenomena. For example, she can use electrical energy to produce lightning bolts that she can shoot, or manipulate thermal energy to create blizzards to freeze her enemies.
It is well-known that the reason why Storm has white hair and blue eyes is that she is a descendant of a long line of mystical African priestesses. The hair and eyes are supposed to signify a magical heritage to other members of the tribe and the potential to wield magic.
