More than anything else, the Strongest Sith Lords crave perfect strength and power. And they will stop at nothing to achieve them! The Jedi and Sith Lords are organizations devoted to opposing codes and philosophies on how to use or interpret the Force. While the Jedi serve as guardians of peace, the Sith use their abilities to try to take over the galaxy. For thousands of years, the Jedi and the Sith Lords would ceaselessly struggle in a number of wars and Battles. The Sith Order counted many powerful members over the years, as Sith technology became incredibly sophisticated. It allowed the Sith to study the Dark Side in depth.
Sith Lords and Ladies have developed insane powers! The topic of the Strongest Sith Lord is always highly debated amongst Star Wars fans. Sith strength can be compared to the user’s raw brute strength, lightsaber skills, or overall abilities. It can also be judged by potential, feats, and mastery of the dark side. Today, we will take all these factors into account while ranking the top 25 strongest Sith lords in Star Wars. Ultimately, we seek to find the Strongest Sith Lord. Are you ready?
25/25. Darth Andeddu
Credited as the Forbear of the Darth title, Darth Andeddu reigned as Dark Lord of the Sith in ancient times. He was a paranoid leader who thought even of his Sith Lords’ subordinates as enemies. Of course, he was eventually overthrown by them. When this happened, he fled to Prakith, where he ruled for centuries as a deity.
After his death, he made sure he was entombed far away from anyone’s reach to keep his knowledge safe. He kept his wisdom in the form of a Holocron which contained his most arcane secret: the ability to cheat death. Darth Wyyrlok III, who is also on this list, discovered Andeddu’s Holocorn and used it to revive Andeddu.
After Andeddu’s essence transferred into the weak body of a rotten Sith fanatic called Gerlun, Wyyrlok dueled Andeddu and defeated him. He then pillaged Andeddu’s tomb and scoured it for knowledge.
24/25. Lord Momin
A very interesting Sith master of evil indeed. Momin was a sculptor, who at a young age experimented with the Force to create. However, his tendency was to make sculptures out of flesh, bones, and organs. Eventually, his artwork got him locked away by those who found it repulsive. A Sith lady named Shaa freed him, claiming Momin as her Sith apprentice, and trained him in the dark side of the Force. Momin, though, killed Shaa, feeling he was second to none.
In his quest to create a masterpiece that would satisfy the dark side of the Force itself, he created an engine that had the power to destroy an entire city. He planned to pour the Force into this machine at the moment of ignition and use it to freeze time, forever trapping the expressions of terror on the city’s inhabitants. As the Jedi intervened during Momin’s attempt, he lost control of the energy he wielded, and his physical body was destroyed, leaving only his mask with his consciousness inside.
Many years later, Darth Sidious recovered Momin’s mask from the Jedi Archive vault and gave it to Darth Vader as a gift. Vader allowed the mask to possess a living body and granted Momin’s consciousness a body. He exploited Momin’s knowledge to his advantage. Momin created unconventional uses for the Force that were never again replicated. He was quite special in his genre and owned immense knowledge about the Dark side, far beyond Sidious’s knowledge.
23/25. Dark Lady Lumiya
The first female Sith on our list, Lady Lumiya was a force-sensitive Imperial Intelligence officer who became a Sith Hand. She was trained by Darth Vader himself, who also renewed her with cybernetic replacements much like his own.
She crafted her own weapon, which wasn’t a lightsaber, but a Lightwhip, a rare Star Wars weapon she made famous. However, when both Palpatine and Vader died in battle at Endor, she became obsessed with killing Luke Skywalker. The one she held responsible for the deaths of her Sith Masters. She conspired to bring the Skywalker family to the dark side in the form of Jacen Solo, Darth Vader’s Grandson. She managed to convince Jacen Solo to take up the Sith’s way of life and taught him what she knew.
Lady Lumiya was happy with this accomplishment. However, she never imagined Solo would end up becoming a far greater threat than anyone could have perceived. She was killed by Luke as a distraction during Jacen Solo’s utter fall to the Dark Side.
22/25. Vergere
A former Padawan, Vergere was the sole survivor of the Fosh race that was annihilated by the Empire While Vergere was still a Jedi, she was known for accessing knowledge that was too corrupting for a Jedi. When she accepted a Jedi mission to a mysterious planet, she was attacked by the ruthless Yuuzhan Vong race. She chose to join the Yuuzhan Vong to find out information about their goals and spent decades with them. When Jedi Knight Jacen Solo was captured by the Vong, it was Vergere who presided over his indoctrination into the Vong culture, including the use of torture as a psychological tool.
Thanks to her innate Force powers and clever use of Sith manipulation tactics, she succeeded. Jacen embraced the dark side and took on the mantle of Darth Caedus, who is also on this list. Although Vegere gave her life for Jacen, which is un-Sith-like, it was, later on, revealed that Vergere was one of the Sith. She had many other Force abilities, such as being able to sever one’s connection to the force. Her tears were antidotes for lots of different poisons, and she also could shrink her force imprint, making her undetectable Vergere was very powerful indeed.
21/25. Darth Wyyrlok III
Darth Wyyrlok the Third was a Chagrian Sith Lord. He was a Loremaster of the One Sith cult, possessing a vast knowledge of Sith lore, rituals, and magic, second only to Darth Krayt founder of the cult in knowledge and power. Wyyrlok III achieved full immersion in the dark side, achieving Sith eyes, and immersing himself up to his physical prime He is shown to be able to toss around heavy objects with ease and telepathically dominate dozens of Sith cultists with a mere gesture of his hand. Wyyrlok even fought briefly against Darth Krayt for a while with both of them matching up quite well.
Darth Wyyrlok’s Lightning Force was powerful enough to disintegrate pillars and destroy the lightsaber-resistant armor of Darth Krayt. Wyyrlok was also very skilled in Memory Walk, a technique that makes a target relive their worst memories.
20/25. Sarasu Taalon
Entering the top twenty on our list of the strongest Sith Lords is Sarasu Taalon. He was a native of the remote planet of Kesh. His Force abilities allowed him to ascend to the rank of High Lord of the lost tribe of the Sith, despite the stigma against Keshiri. He was powerful enough to survive fighting the force entity, Abeloth But his power doesn’t end there! Eventually, he bathed in the Pool of Knowledge which is where a lot of Abeloth’s power came from. From that, his powers grew exponentially to the point he has become a threat to Grandmaster Luke and tipped the balance of the force itself. For example, when Luke tried to shoot him, Taalon was able to react in nanoseconds.
Taalon is also considered to be in the top tier of dueling. He had insane telekinetic feats, such as being able to use it against the likes of Abeloth without much strain. Taalon was finally killed by Vestara Khai after beginning to transform into an Abeloth-like Force being. The only reason Taalon ever died was that he was killed in a surprise attack. If that never happened, he would’ve become an unimaginably powerful being.
19/25. Darth Zannah
Darth Zannah began as a force-sensitive human child only known as “Rain.” She initially hoped to become a Jedi but eventually fell to the dark side and became Darth Bane’s apprentice. She learned quickly! By the time she was fourteen, she learned to manipulate the power of the dark side through Sith spells that Bane had extracted from a Sith Holocron device. Zannah constructed her double-bladed lightsaber not long afterward. Her customized weapon included a longer-than-average hilt and was powered by a set of synthetic lightsaber crystals, one of which was known as Bane’s Heart.
Her Lightsaber form, Soresu, was so proficient that Bane regarded it as ‘impenetrable’ Although Zannah proved her loyalty to Darth Bane on countless missions, she vowed that she would one day surpass him in power and destroy him, according to the Rule of Two. When Zannah found Bane was seeking immortality and therefore violating his own Rule of Two, the two came to blows on the planet Ambria.
The battle was hard and after Bane seem to gain the upper hand, Zannah tapped into the energy of the dark side nexus present in Ambria. Using this power, she drew forth stems of pure Dark Side energy from the ground and directed them against Bane. One of her tendrils clipped Bane’s shoulder and caused him such excruciating pain that he fell to the ground. In his desperation, Bane tried to perform the ritual of essence transfer to transfer his consciousness into hers.
However, Zannah fought back, proving herself stronger than him. She finally defeated Bane, banishing his spirit into the void of the Force. She became Darth Zannah, the new Dark Lord of the Sith. Darth Zannah was extremely proficient in Sith sorcery, which could make your target suffer hallucinations and insanity, causing the weaker minds to outright disintegrate. She killed multiple victims with this technique and didn’t even have to fight them.
18/25.Tulak Hord
Tulak Hord, aka the Lord of Hate, was a Dark Lord of the first Sith Empire. He was the one who conquered the planet Dromund Kaas which would serve as the base of the Sith Empire for the next 2000 years. In an era where the Sith Lords had mastered lightsaber combat to the degree that later day Sith would call themselves “children” in comparison, Tulak Hord was able to emerge as the greatest duelist of his time. Now, that’s something!
Hord introduced Form II of lightsaber combat, which would later help in developing other 5 forms of Lightsaber combat. He was also capable of telekinetically pulling a one thousand-foot starship from the sky, breaking a siege held by an army of Jedi, and later with his army fighting an army of Jedi 1000 strong. Later, he drained the energies from all the fallen Jedi. His tomb contained multiple aberrations of the Dark Side and acted as a Dark Nexus.
17/25. Dathka Graush
Entering the top twenty strongest Sith lords and peaking at #17 is one of the most interesting Sith on this list. Dathka Graush the Cruel was a Sith Lord who managed to put an end to an endless civil war on the Planet of Korriban. He was crowned king, but it turned out the new king drew more pleasure in killing people rather than ruling them. His goal was not only to rule the living Korriban people but also the dead! To achieve this goal, he took an unnatural interest in the remains of Dead soldiers. Through Sith Alchemy, he performed the Tsaiwinokka Hoyakut, a necromancy ritual that revived the Fallen Sith warriors and made them mindless Zombies. However, for the ritual to be complete, Dathka has to sacrifice his heart.
He did, and replaced it with a Force-sensitive crystal, thus bringing the deceased back to life, making them his mindless slaves. Although some believed his crystal made Dathka invincible, he was assassinated by his subjects, Graush was also in possession of a helm, a powerful Sith Artifact that empowered his command of the Force.
16/25. Darth Caedus
Another Jedi turned Sith, Darth Caedus’ original name was Jacen Solo. The son of Leia Organa and Han Solo in Legends. He turned on his family and was trained by Dark Lady Lumiya, who is also on this list. He was an excellent lightsaber duelist and a powerful force user, who was able to fight competitively with Grandmaster Luke at the height of his power. Caedus was able to watch the saber of Kyle Katarn, who moves with lightning-fast speed, cross harmlessly past his face.
He defeated his aunt Mara Jade Skywalker by way of casting a force illusion so vivid it distracted her long enough to serve a killing blow. His pain tolerance was off the charts! When he reached his peak his uncle Luke Skywalker stated he had grown more powerful than Vader. Finally, he was killed by his twin sister Jaina.
15/25. Darth Traya
One of the strongest Sith Lords ever, Darth Traya, formerly Kreia, lived following the Jedi Civil War. Once a Jedi Master, she was exiled by the Jedi Order because her students followed Revan into battle against the Mandalorians during the Mandalorian War. Her unstoppable craving to gain a fuller understanding of the essence of the Force made her embrace the dark side. She founded a Sith academy and became a master to two Sith apprentices, Darth Nihilius and Darth Sion. Traya, Nihilius, and Sion formed a Sith Triumvirate which sought to destroy the Jedi. However, her apprentices betrayed her and stripped her of her connection to the Force. She didn’t die, though, and became obsessed with destroying the Force as well as the Jedi and the Sith.
Darth Traya was extremely powerful! For example, on Dantooine, she ambushed and stripped three Jedi Masters of the Force, killing them. Later, she traveled to the secret Jedi Academy on Telos IV and corrupted Master Atris. Her feats of power also include Force Hibernation and the handling of three lightsabers when battling. Ultimately, she was killed in a duel by a former Jedi General named Meetra Surik, aka the Jedi Exile.
14/25. Ulic Qel-Droma
One of the strongest Sith lords, Ulic was born to the famous Jedi Master Lien-Tsai Qel-Droma. Ulic possessed a natural talent in the Force. However, his attempt to, as he put it, “conquer the dark side from within” has proved disastrous. He fell to the Dark Side. When another fallen Jedi, Exar Kun, arrived to eliminate Ulic the two instead joined forces. Kun became Dark Lord of the Sith, and Ulic was his apprentice. He showed to be a very well-rounded duelist, specializing in the Djem So form. Ulic defeated the warlord Mandalore in single combat. He also defeated the Dark Jedi Warb Null. His corruption was so deep, he even killed his brother Cay Qel-Droma with a lightsaber.
However, murdering his brother horrified Uliq enough to abandon the Sith ways and revert to the light side. In redemption, he led Republic forces to planet Yavin, where Exar Kun’s forces perished in a conflagration, ending the Sith War that he and Kun started. Finally, he was slain by the cohort of a vengeful Jedi.
13/25. Darth Nox
Born Daliren Tarru, the future Darth Nox was a descendant of the legendary Sith Lord Aloysius Kallig. However, he started as a slave of the Empire, and later to be trained to be a Sith Inquisitor. During his rise to power, Nox developed a vicious rivalry with Darth Thanaton, a powerful Dark Lord, and a member of the Empire’s Dark Council, who could create lightning storms only seen by the likes of Karness Muur. The struggle between the two reached its climax when Nox defeated Thanaton right on the floor of the Council chamber.
During the fight, he tanked Thanaton’s most powerful attack and continued to completely dominate him, bringing him to his knees with the Force. Nox then occupied Thanaton’s seat on the Dark Council, as the Dark Councilor heading the Sphere of Ancient Knowledge.
Darth Nox was immensely proficient in the “innate gift” of Sith Magic, particularly the Force Walk ritual that enabled him to draw strength from numerous Sith spirits to explosively augment his power. He was also a proficient user of the Force Storm, using it in combat against a variety of enemies.
12/25. Darth Sion
One of the most interesting Sith Lords, Darth Sion lived in the time of the Old Sith Wars. For some reason, he developed a peculiar disgust toward his own body. He hated the fragile limitations to pain and damage that all humans have to such a degree that his hate for his perceived weaknesses drove him to fixate on pain. Sion went into battle with the Jedi openly seeking death. However, rather than die, Sion found that by calling on his pain, anger, and hatred, he could rise from certain death and achieve immortality, at the cost of all-consuming agony.
With a body shattered and decaying, but held together by the dark side, Sion survived the Great Sith War. Sion then went on a Jedi killing spree across the galaxy. He was killed on several occasions, but as before he kept getting up each time and slaughtered many Jedi.
He also slew numerous weaker Sith throughout the years. Sion was killed by Surikin, who was able to convince him to let go of the Force and die. Because he was able to draw on his pain along with the rage to revive himself, he came to be known by the title of the Lord of Pain.
11/25. Ajunta Pall
Ajunta Pall was the first Dark Lord of the Sith the founder of the Sith Order and the first Sith Empire which would survive for nearly 2,000 years. He was originally a Jedi Master who wanted to practice the Dark Side of the Force, but he and his Dark Jedi associates were defeated by the Jedi order and fled to planet Korriban. At over one hundred years of age, Ajunta Pall was capable of killing a dozen Jedi at the Battle of Corbos.
His most impressive feat was emerging as the Dark Lord during a time when the Sith Order had its strongest members. The fact that he was strong enough to hold sway over Karness Murr (One of the greatest masters of Sith dark Magic, who as a Force Spirit single-handedly overpowered the final Dark Lord of the Sith Darth Krayt) shows that Ajunta Pall was incredibly powerful. After his death, his remnants were returned to Korriban and placed into a tomb in the Valley of the Dark Lords, the final resting place of many of the most powerful Sith Lords.
10/25. Naga Sadow
And so we reached the top ten strongest Sith lords on our list. One of the greatest masters of Sith Alchemy of all time, Naga Sadow is an ancient Sith Lord who led the first Sith Empire during the Great Hyperspace War that attempted to expand the borders of the Sith Empire at the expense of the Old Republic. However, this conflict led to the downfall of the first Sith Empire.
Labeled a criminal by the Old Republic due to his part in the war, Sadow fled to Yavin 4 moon, where he continued his experiments on Sith Magic. He was a master at creating beasts and also manufactured Sith amulets of incredible power that he used to amplify the effects of his magic. He was a very skillful illusionist wizard, able to make illusions of his ships so realistic they could do actual damage! Moreover, when he died, his spirit was still strong enough to possess beings. Some consider Naga Sadow to be the Sith’ari, a being prophesized to lead and destroy the Sith, but doing so would make the Sith more powerful than ever before.
9/25. Darth Ruin
Formerly known as Phanius, the Sith Lord Darth Ruin was previously a valued Jedi Master. However, due to his self-centered philosophy that espoused the idea that his very willpower superseded everything in existence, he eventually gained infamy within the Jedi. Phanius then abandoned the Jedi order and turned to the Dark Side.
He re-emerged under the new identity of the mysterious Darth Ruin, and revived the extinct Sith Order, creating his order known for its extremely selfish tenets. Darth Ruin was eventually killed by his Sith disciples, but his order gave rise to a galactic-scale conflict, the New Sith Wars, which would last a millennium, devastate the galaxy, and lead to the rise of countless Sith sects. Ultimately, the war ended with Darth Bane instituting the Rule of Two, which in turn led to the rise of Emperor Palpatine.
Darth Ruin is the father of the modern Sith lineage. He was intelligent and charismatic but single-minded and ambitious, believing nothing was real outside of his mind. As a result, Ruin was one of the most feared Sith Lords ever! He thought he was God.
8/25. Marka Ragnos
The best duelist of his time, wielding a big He-Man-Esque sword, Marka Ragnos ruled for one hundred years, at the height of the Sith Golden Age. As a ruler, Ragnos eliminated his rivals in vicious, cunning campaigns, decapitating his greatest rival, Lord Simus. It is a testament to his power that no Sith challenged him after his rise to power, including Naga Sadow, one of the most powerful Sith Lords of all time, and Sadow’s greatest rival Ludo Kressh. He was capable of using the Dark Side to make himself nearly impervious to injury, an ability he used to charge into battle and overwhelm his opponents
Even after his death, his spirit was alive for over 5000 years and continued to be extremely influential in the future development of the Sith Order. For example, he stopped a duel between two contenders for the Sith Throne. Had he not done this, Sith’s history would likely have been very different. He also created the Brotherhood of the Sith by uniting the two most powerful Dark Siders in the galaxy, Ulic Qel-Droma, and Exar Kun. His power was unmatched by anyone at his time and he was regarded as one of the strongest Sith lords in history.
7/25. Darth Malak
Initially, a heroic Jedi Knight who fought in the Mandalorian Wars, Darth Malak was corrupted by the Dark Side energies on Malachor V, a long-forgotten Sith world. He then served Darth Revan, Dark Lord of the Sith, for a time. However, he began to chafe under Revan’s command and sought to claim the title of Dark Lord for himself. The opportunity came when a Republic strike team, led by a Jedi, staged an assault on Revan’s flagship. Malak opened fire on the command deck of Revan’s Flagship, knocking out Revan, and giving the Jedi a chance to seize him. Malak then took his Master’s place as the Dark Lord of the Sith and ruled with an iron fist,
Darth Malak had a devastating Dark Side power, and his dark presence was enough to overwhelm even an experienced Jedi. He was also able to break free of Vitiate’s mind control which is an unbelievable feat. Another amazing feat Of his was when he proved he could remain on planet Nathema’s force void through sheer willpower, long enough to search through various buildings. This is a feat that even pure-blooded Sith like Lord Scourge could not achieve. No doubt Darth Malak is one of the strongest Sith lords who ever lived.
6/25. Exar Kun
Exar Kun is a fallen Jedi Knight who turned into one of the most infamous Dark Lords in history Probably the most dangerous lightsaber duelist of all time, Kun was undefeated in lightsaber combat, and used the most unorthodox lightsaber in all of Star Wars, making him able to change the length and intensity of his blade to outsmart his opponents. Exar Kun was trained by Jedi battle master, Vodo-Siosk Baas, early in his life, as a Jedi, and by the spirit of legendary Sith lord, Naga Sadow later in life, which could explain his skills with the saber. He was also extremely strong in the Dark Side, with a strong natural connection to the dark, being capable of such abilities as Force Drain, Drain Resistance, and Force Lightning.
No doubt Exar Kur could pose a serious threat to Grand Master Luke, to the point of taking him down. He is also known to be the one who invented the double-bladed lightsaber. Kun lusted for power and aspired to become the strongest Force wielder the galaxy has ever known. In his quest to achieve it he stopped at nothing, including forbidden techniques and knowledge. Eventually, it took thousands of Jedi to imprison him in a temple.
5/25. Darth Vader
Making it to number five on our list of strongest Sith lords is one of only two beings ever to successfully sack the Jedi Temple!
Darth was the only one to open the netherworld against the will of the force! He is truly a powerhouse, not to mention a cultural icon. Everyone knows about him. Canonically, Vader is the Sith Lord with the most potential. He has amazing Lightsaber skills and Force Powers.
Anakin Skywalker has deflected a laser beam that had enough power to destroy the Jedi Temple: After his cybernetic reconstruction, Vader’s connection to the Force grew to frightful levels, to the point where Darth Sidious once complimented his powers as being “unparalleled. Though his injuries had physically crippled him, Vader believed that the suffering that he had experienced had both perfected his spirit and freed him from the needs of the flesh, allowing him to concentrate solely on his bond to the Force.
He demonstrated enough telekinetic power to stop an AT-AT from stepping on him. On another occasion, he telekinetically lifted two AT-DP walkers off of himself without any apparent strain. As a lightsaber duelist, he perfected a hybrid combat form, comprised of the fine blade work of Makashi, the immovable defense of Suresu, the powerful Djem So, and the wild, unpredictable Juyo. At his peak, Vader could embarrass multiple council-level Jedi simultaneously as he did on several occasions. For all these abilities, and so much more! Darth Vader deserves a place in our five top strongest Sith Lords list.
4/25. Darth Krayt
Darth Krayt was s dark lord of the Sith during the new Republic and legacy era. The son of legendary Jedi Master Sharad Hett, Darth Krayt was born as a Tusken Raider named A’Sharad Hett. He later would become a Jedi himself after passing the Dark Woman’s test and outmatching her in a duel despite himself holding back. When Order 66 identified all Jedi as traitors to the Galactic Republic occurred, A’Sharad managed to defeat the Clones attempting to execute him and went into hiding, returning to his Tusken heritage. After becoming a bounty hunter for a time he ended up on Korriban where he encountered and was trained by the Sith Lord Xoxann, After completing his training, he began to create a new Sith Order. He united the galaxy under the rule of the Sith once more and orchestrated the third Jedi purge.
At one point, he aided Luke Skywalker in defeating Abeloth, since the only way to stop this powerful force-sensitive entity was if a Jedi and Sith fought it together. Darth Krayt met his end when after casually defeating Cade Skywalker in his prime, he attempted to turn Cade to the Dark Side once more. He failed to do so, which allowed Cade to take the opportunity to kill him while Krayt was distracted. Darth Krayt was said to be comparable to Grandmaster Luke in his prime. He was skilled with many force powers particularly telekinesis and Sith Lightning. He was also a master of Form VI and utilized two blades with exceptional ability. One of the things that made Krayt so dangerous is how difficult he was to kill. He could use dark transfer to heal himself from death.
3/25. Darth Revan
The greatest warrior of his age, and one of the most accomplished lightsaber duelists of all time, former Jedi Darth Revan has formed his own empire and come closer to taking over the galaxy than any Sith before him. He was also one of the greatest tacticians in galactic history. Revan led brutal campaigns against the Mandalorians and Jedi Knights. He could use the Force to predict the outcomes of entire wars. Later, he tried to kill his master, emperor Vitiate, once nearly succeeding. For that, he was tortured for three centuries by Darth Vitiate in a dungeon. He killed Mandalore the Ultimate, who had himself defeated Jedi Malak with a single swing. He manipulated the dark side nexus of Malachor 5, from orbit, and used it to help him turn thousands of Jedi and Republic Soldiers to the Darkside.
As Kreia/Darth Traya puts it: “Revan was power. It was like staring into the heart of the Force“. During the battle of the Foundry, Revan called down nearby meteors, pulling them into the Inner Sanctum. Later, on Yavin IV, Revan was capable of wielding two additional lightsabers with the Force, sending them spinning around the battlefield. He also telekinetically incapacitated almost a dozen separate combatants at once, including Darth Marr and Satele Shan. Yep, that’s power for you!
2/25. Darth Vitiate
Born Tenebrae on the planet Medriaas, Valkorion was the illegitimate son of a Sith Lord and a nameless peasant. He ruled the Sith Empire for 1,500 years, more than any other Sith, as Immortal Emperor Valkorion, sustaining himself through the consumption of the energy of all who opposed him. He obtained immortality by using Sith magic to drain the life force out of eight thousand fellow Sith Lords and an entire planet’s population. In his war with the Republic, he enslaved the minds of entire planets to his will. He wrecked a small fleet of battleships as an aftereffect of his Force Lightning. Even as a child, Vitiate’s Dark power was so great that wild beasts instinctively fled at his mere approach. Before his 10th birthday, he single-handedly conquered many villages on his home planet and raised a powerful army which he used to conduct massacres upon which he fueled his growing power.
It was also at the age of ten that he severed his father’s power. He then imprisoned his father’s spirit for millennia of torment. He dominated his first planet before the age of fourteen. As Emperor, he continued experimenting even further with the dark side, to the point he was able to imbue portions of his consciousness into infants, transforming those Children of the Emperor into extensions of his will. He could suppress his Children’s personas and even their Force-sensitivity, making them the ultimate covert operatives, and further possess them like puppets.
The Emperor was also extremely proficient in the use of Force Lightning, utilizing it in the form of cracking bolts of energy and even being proficient enough to single-handedly summon Force Storms strong enough to overwhelm Revan’s Tutaminis and severely injure him. In short, Darth Vitiate was ridiculously powerful and worthy of the second spot on this list. If he had better skills with a lightsaber he might have made number one. But in terms of Force achievements he is practically unrivaled.
1/25. Darth Sidious
The Strongest Sith Lords achieved practical immortality or even came back from the dead. Some Dark Side Force wielders traversed massive distances via teleportation and performed great telekinetic feats like pulling a moon. The Strongest Sith Lord is a Sith who has the most awesome powers of the Dark Side and the biggest impact in the galaxy. From this perspective, a Sith who assumes the title of Emperor of Sith Empire is eligible.
There are only two candidates: Emperor Vitiate and Emperor Palpatine. According to Disney/George Lucas, Palpatine is the Strongest Sith Lord. We happen to agree with Disney on that one, although Vitiaite does come pretty close. Emperor Palpatine was the embodiment of the Dark Side and in Legends, he was a god. He can destroy entire solar systems with his Force Storm ability. He is also one of the very very few Darksiders that found immortality through the Force. It might seem like the boring answer to this question, but that doesn’t mean it’s not true.
According to Canon, Legends, and George Lucas himself, Emperor Sheev Palpatine, aka Darth Sidious, is the strongest Sith Lord the galaxy has ever had the displeasure of seeing. He is the embodiment of the Dark Side and the culmination of absolute dark side power! Sidious has plotted the Naboo invasion, masterminded the Clone Wars, initiated Order 66, and destroyed the Galactic Republic, all while convincing the Galactic Senate these were good ideas. He managed to turn Anakin Skywalker, the Chosen One, to the Dark Side, he fought Yoda to a standstill and created a force lightning storm that crippled an entire Armada of ships. Palpatine was so skilled in Sith Alchemy that he could hide his true face and force aura from the entire Jedi Order. He could create black holes and teleport to places lightyears away.
Sidious mastered all 7 Forms of Lightsaber Combat. Defeated three Jedi Council members in twenty seconds He wiped out 99% of the Jedi, which is the ultimate goal of any Sith. And he did it at the absolute height of their power! Darth Sidious is the total package and our top pick for this list of the top 30 Strongest Sith Lords on Star Wars.
Hope you enjoyed this list of the top strongest Sith lords as much as we enjoyed making it for you!
