Hollywood actor James Franco throws a mega party in his new mansion. Seth Rogen convinces his visitor from Canada Jay Baruchel, to join him at the party, Jay feels very uncomfortable not knowing the host and other guests, but he agrees to go with Seth anyway. 

Plot:

During the party, the guests feel something similar to an earthquake but not quite the same – they are in a very very odd situation when a more apocalyptic event hits the area around the house. There are many casualties and a mess at the house, a few of the survivors take refuge in James’ house, which leads to a lot of survival questions, and moral dilemmas and brought up to the light old wounds between fellow actors. 

2. Blockers (2018)

This movie stands out among the blatant comedies of recent years. Not only is the comedy about parents trying to keep their daughters from losing their virginity at a prom, but it also manages to cleverly combine moments of nonsense with heartfelt conversations. Is this what happens when women direct women?

Plot:

Three overprotective parents (Leslie Mann, John Cena, and Ike Barinholz), coincidently discover that their teenage daughters are planning to lose their virginity on prom night, they join forces and plan a covert operation to prevent this from happening. The parents who failed to digest the gospel, go out in a race against the clock, and along the way encounter some obstacles that may expose their actions and ruin their plans. The teen couples and the parents, as two opposite groups, get into one misadventure after another, as the parents try to track their daughters and their dates before they feel the girls will be making the biggest mistake of their young lives.

3. Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008)

As in all of his films, Judd Apatow’s protagonist is not exactly an actor who looks like a sculpted Hollywood star, but a chubby dude with a big heart beating in his chest. A good soul that if only he is given the opportunity will conquer your heart. And that’s exactly what Jason Siegel’s script offers: a story full of soul, but also the fluid humor of the sitcom star actor just like Wedding Crashers.

Plot:

Peter Bretter (Jason Segel), is a composer and musician, when he is dumped by his girlfriend (Kristen Bell) of five years, he is devastated. She left him for another man. Peter decides to get some distance and get on vacation. The place Peter chooses is a Resort in Hawaii, a place where Sarah had mentioned wanting to go when they were together. When Peter arrives at the Resort, he finds out that Sarah is also there with her new boyfriend – a pretentious band singer. Peters’ plan to go far away and forget about Sarah is likely impossible when she is so close, but he refuses to let go of the idea to move on from their breakup. He soon gets emotionally involved with Rachel (Mila Kunis), one of the customer service agents of the resort, who carries heavy emotional baggage, but things get even more complicated when Sarah has a turning point of her own.

4. Hot Tub Time Machine (2010)

Raw humor comedy with an interesting take on adolescence. A fresh perspective of four friends in their 40s who suddenly return to the situation they were in when they were 18. Lots of dick jokes, all in all, good fun.

Plot:

Three friends are in the midst of a crisis (John Cusack, Clark Duke, Craig Robinson, Rob Corddry.) Adam, whose girlfriend dumped him, Nick, with a job he can not stand to bear, and a cheating wife, and Lou, who has drinking problems and a suicidal wish attitude. In order to relax and breathe some fresh air, they decide to take a vacation at a winter resort, where they were used to partying like hell when they were younger. When the four friends arrive at the resort which is now a dump, they plan to spend the night drinking like old good times. When they enter enters the hot tub, they discover it’s taking them back to 1986 to a promising night they had back then. They now have the opportunity to change their past in order to change their future. – what they will decide to do?

This is not one of those comedies that will make the audience laugh, but one that will make them turn to think, thanks to its witty and simple message. At some point in life, every person is a young person who is looking for their place in the world, and Everyone Wants Some, accurately shows how it feels like to discover yourself together with the whole world.

Plot:

During the eighties’ in Texas, Jake (Blake Jenner), is a new college student and a successful baseball player. When he is accepted into the Amityville College fraternity, he moves into an off-campus house with other members of the college baseball team. At a team meeting in the house, their coach introduces the new players, including freshmen Jake. The coach cites two rules: no alcohol in the house, and no women upstairs. The team quickly disregards the rules and hosts a drunken party during which several players take women up to their bedrooms. The next morning, one of the new players leaves temporarily for his hometown, concerned his girlfriend might be pregnant. Jake experiences competitiveness, and erupting sexuality, and identifies problems that are common during adolescence. Despite all hardships, heartbreaks, and delusional adventures, Jake knows that he will cherish this experience for the rest of his life.

We begin our list with director Todd Phillips’ wild comedy. You’ll find lots of funny and disturbing moments, some smart and some vulgar. This is a movie intended primarily for males but surprisingly likewise, women dig it.

Plot:

Two days before his wedding, Doug (Justin Bartha) travels to Las Vegas with his good friends Phil and Stu (Bradley Cooper and Ed Helms), and his future brother-in-law (Zach Galifianakis), in order to throw together an unforgettable bachelor party. But when they wake up the next morning, with a crazy headache, they fail to remember anything that happened. Their luxurious suite is completely ruined and they can’t find the groom to be. The three have no idea where he is and have very little time to find him and bring him back in time for his wedding in Los Angeles. They must recapture their actions from the previous night, in order to find Doug and figure out where everything went wrong. But the more they discover, the more they realize that the trouble they have engaged in is much greater than they thought.

Plot:

The relationship between them takes off and Josh, which is a virgin, receives from the girl an offer he cannot refuse. The only problem is that the girl lives on the other side of the US. He steals his brothers’ car and together with his best friends Lance (Clark Duke) and Felicia (Amanda Crew), Ian embarks on a journey toward the mysterious girl who will redeem him from his virginity. During their road trip to meet the girl, their car breaks and they get help from an Amish community, they meet several interesting characters, Ian and Felicia discover that maybe they are more than just friends, and Ian finds out that the girl he was writing through the internet, may not be who he thinks she is.

On the way to meet their goal, they will reveal many truths and will ask themselves many questions – among them – is it the right way to lose their virginity? and do they want their first sexual experience to be that way?

The main attraction of ‘Ted’, Seth McFarlane’s first film, is aided by the ‘a child meets a supernatural, but captivating entity and they go on a wonderful adventure, and become best friends’ trope. But a disturbed and hilarious version.

Plot:

John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg), is a couch potato that works at a car rental service and spends his time smoking pot and watching movies with his Teddy bear – Ted, who comes to life after John made he made a Christmas wish, 30 Years ago, when he was a friendless kid with no friends, that his Teddy will come to life and be his only friend. Bennett also has a girlfriend (Mila Kunis), with a great career and a boss, that really interested in her. When Bennett gets an offer to sell Ted he has a dilemma, but he eventually refuses it. When his girlfriend asks to take their relationship a step ahead, Bennett has to make get a tough decision.
