20 Most Powerful Force Users

20/20. Bendu

most powerful force user
20/20. Bendu

The Bendu is an ancient entity of colossal size and equally enormous power. He resided on the remote planet of Atollon and his physiology allowed him to blend in perfectly with the terrestrial features of the planet. Bendu had great command of the Force and claimed to be “the one in-between” the Light and the Dark Side. Practically, his philosophy was to never take sides in the fight for good versus evil, or basically any conflict. Despite his enormous size, Bendu could make himself disappear. He then could appear elsewhere, which made him quite invulnerable.  He could also transform into a huge lightning storm to attack the Imperials converging on the Atollon base.

However, his attack was indiscriminate and caused casualties both to the Imperials and Rebels. Also, he didn’t seem to have complete control of the storm. Basically, Bendu seemed to be an aspect of the Force, or a force of nature, which may explain his wrathful temper.

19/20. Zonama Sekot

most powerful force users
19/20. Zonama Sekot

The second candidate for the title of the most powerful Force user is an entire planet! Zonama Sekot is a sentient planet, known for its living ships and capability to travel through space and hyperspace. The way it worked is that Zonama was the body of the planet, while Sekot was the mind of Zonama. It was also the original planet from which the Yuuzhan Vong species came. It was located somewhere in the Unknown Regions which are past the Outer Rim territories.

However, Zonama is a “Rogue Planet” that has a hyper-drive of its own so its location isn’t fixed. The planet seems to spend a lot of its time lurking in the Unknown Regions but continues to pop up once in a while to join forces with Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, and Leia Organa. The living planet seems to display Force powers like Force Projections that he used to talk to people on the planet.

18/20. Darth Nihilus

Darth Nihilus
18/20. Darth Nihilus

Described as the embodiment of death, Darth Nihilus was so powerful in the Force that only planets and stars, not people, demanded his attention. It was stated that Nihilus’ mask was such a focal point of Dark Side energies that even a non-Force-sensitive that wore it could wield the dark side as if they had the power and skill of a Sith Apprentice. His primary feat was Force Drain and he used it to destroy the whole planet of Katarr which was a world filled with Force-sensitives. He wiped out the entire civilization there alongside some of the most powerful Jedi in the galaxy.

Darth Nihilus was so Dark Side corrupted that his very speech caused pain and death to all who hear it. It is presumed that Nihilus’ end goal was to devour the universe until he is the only thing that is left. However, this enormous hunger he had for feasting on the Force, was also his downfall. The hunger finally devoured him as he devoured others, and left him open to attacks.

17/20. Waru

Waru
17/20. Waru

Waru is a mysterious trans-dimensional anomaly from a parallel universe that follows the laws of the “anti-Force” – the exact opposite of the Force. Once, Waru was transported to the Star Wars galaxy and sought a way to escape back to his home dimension. While in this foreign galaxy, Waru proved to have amazing healing powers, able to treat injuries utilizing his own body.

However, healing others came at a great cost to Waru, whose own life force would be empty. So, he was forced to kill some of his patients to refill his strength. Eventually, Waru was able to rip the space-time continuum to re-enter his own dimension. He did it by consuming Hethrir, a powerful Dark Jedi, fueling himself with enough Force energy to get back home.

16/20. Prime Anakin

most powerful Force user
16/20. Prime Anakin

Theoretically, Anakin Skywalker should have been the most powerful Force user ever. After all, he was conceived through the Force and was identified via blood test to have the highest midi-chlorian count ever. However, because of his inner self, he did not reach his full potential power. In the Clone Wars television series, we did get to see Anakin’s actual power level demonstrated on planet Mortis, where three god-like entities who embodied the Light Side, the Dark Side, and the Balance were locked in an eternal struggle for dominance.

On this occasion, Anakin was not only proclaimed to truly be the chosen One but also shown to dominate both the Light Side and the Dark Side, embodied by the Daughter and the Son. Anakin actually tamed the two at the same time. Their Father believed that with the enormous Force and power Anakin held, Anakin could replace him as the Balance between the Dark and Light sides.

15/20. Soa, The Infernal One

most powerful Force user
15/20. Soa, The Infernal One

An extremely powerful Force user, Soa has been imprisoned in the Eternity Vault on Belsavis for twenty thousand years. Once an ancient Rakata warlord that conquered a thousand planets, Soa was so powerful that even when captured he could not be killed. So, he was instead locked away in a vault. The section of the jail in which Soa was held was discovered during an attack by the Imperial Military. Realizing Soa to be a galactic-level threat, both the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire sent a special strike team to eliminate Soa. He fought them, along with his creations, Annihilation Droid XRR-3 and the alchemical monster Gharj. The Joint strike team consisted of the Hero of Tython, Barsen’thor, Voidhound, Meteor, the Emperor’s Wrath II, Darth Nox, Cipher Nine, and Scree. It took everything these great champions got to complete the mission.

Soa telekinetically broke and threw around countless massive Rakatan statues with such force they shattered large platforms, forcing them to fall. He did all this while using Levitation to stay dozens of feet above the ground. He was also able to instantly teleport while in combat against the strike team. During the fight, he created invincible bubbles of the Force around him that absorbed all the attacks the strike team could unleash. He threw balls of lightning that traveled around and attacked combatants. These are all amazing Force feats that put Soa as one of the most powerful Force users in history!

14/20. The Force Priestesses

most powerful force user
14/20. The Force Priestesses

Practically the conscious Force itself or the closest thing to it, The Force Priestesses reside within the Wellspring of Life, home of the midi-chlorians. They are described as once-living beings who became one with the Cosmic Force. Although there are at least five of them, It is also possible that initially, they were one single living being, who subsequently divided into many after dying and becoming one with the Force. The Priestesses are stated to be immortal, and they taught both Yoda and Qui-Gon how to become functionally immortal, existing in the Cosmic Force and the Living Force simultaneously by becoming Force Ghosts.

Not exactly physical in their manifestations, it is likely that the Force Priestesses are Force Ghosts that reside in the Netherworld of the Force and not the physical plane of existence. With such a deep connection to the Force, they could shapeshift, float, and do all sorts of magical wonders. When Yoda met the priestesses it was obvious that they had superiority over him, which says a lot about them.

13/20. Darth Bane

Darth Bane
13/20. Darth Bane

Nearly unmatched in his raw power in the Force, Darth Bane had a strong Force connection early on. While a student at the Sith Academy under the Brotherhood of Darkness, a fellow student noticed that moments after learning Force Lighting Bane was able to create a Force Storm bigger than she had seen any of the Sith masters make let alone the students. He was also very skilled with a lightsaber, able to counter and defeat almost all opponents, notably Kas’im, probably the best lightsaber duelist in the Brotherhood of Darkness. When Bane lost his trust in the Brotherhood, believing it to be flawed, he left it. He spent his time learning Darth Revan’s Sith Holocron. Armed with new knowledge, orchestrated the destruction of the Brotherhood, allowing him to create his own Sith Order.

He then founded the Rule of Two, stating there would be two Sith only! one to embody the power and the other to crave it! At this stage, Bane could duel three Master Jedi simultaneously while they were amped and he was weakened and still have the upper hand. In his prime, Bane was so powerful that power artifacts could no longer boost his abilities. He could cast electric voltage so devastating that his opponents died instantly upon contact, turning into ash. He has collapsed the Temple of the Ancients on Lehon with a Force shock wave. Bane’s work has laid the groundwork for the Sith that followed him in the years to come.

12/20. Typhojem, the Left-Handed God

Typhojem, the Left-Handed God
12/20. Typhojem, the Left-Handed God

Typhojem was a deity worshipped by the Kissai, a subspecies of the ancient Sith race. He was the firstborn of Tilotny, who is also on this list, as part of The Bedlam Spirits. He was brother to Tharagorrogaraht the Night Spirit and Mnggal-Mnggal, a deadly being composed solely of a thick gray ooze. It is believed Typhojem arose from the Dark Side of the Force as an incarnation of pure destruction and entropy.

Typhojem was known to be able to destroy moons with his scream. It is noted that when the Dark Jedi Ajunta Pall appointed himself as leader of the Sith, the Sith’s Kissai priests addressed Ajunta as a manifestation of Typhojem.

11/20. Emperor Vitiate

Emperor Vitiate
11/20. Emperor Vitiate

Vitiate was extremely powerful even from a young age, becoming a Sith Lord at the age of 13. At the age of 6, he was capable of snapping the average person’s neck with the Force. At the age of 10, he killed the Sith Lord who was his biological father, Lord Dramath. Through a dark ritual, Vitiate gained immortality and was able to survive for millennia in his own body. He did it by feeding on the life force of entire worlds to fuel his reign over his own Sith Empire. Vitiate’s thousand years of life gave him plenty of time to master the Dark Side! The result was that many Force users, Jedi and Sith alike, fell to his power.

He is one of the very few people in Star Wars to ever demonstrate the ability to destroy entire planets – while in an ethereal spirit form, he managed to enslave the minds of the entire populace on Ziost, and then later drain the planet of its life force entirely, leaving it a dried and withered husk. Vitate Killed 11 Dark Council Members simultaneously, could stop time in a certain area, and one-shotted Darth Marr with Lightning.

10/20. Charal

most powerful force user in star wars
10/20. Charal

The Witch-Queen of Endor, Charal is an Ex-Nightsister, highly skilled in the usage of dark arts within her magic. One of the most powerful Nightsisters ever, Charal was a being of power so immense that even Jedi scholars could not comprehend her arcane abilities. Like other witches, she could channel Spirit Ichor in the form of green smoke and use it as extensions of her arms to physically strike her opponents or raise them up in the air. Also, with the use of her ring, Charal had the power to transform into a raven

However, Charal has demonstrated powers none other has. She could overpower the Sunstar which is a Star Wars weapon considered the most powerful object in the universe. The Sunstar was stated to be capable of defeating Darth Sidious, Darth Vader, and the greatest Imperial armada ever assembled. The Sunstar was used to manipulate matter on a planetary scale, and move the moons of Endor into alignment! It one-shot Logray, a nigh-immortal force user, reality warper, and rival to the legendary Morag. Amazingly, Charal was able to take hits!! from the all-powerful Sunstar and to tank its attacks. She was unphased by the Sunstar releasing close to all of its power at once.

9/20. The World Razer

most powerful Force user in star wars
9/20. The World Razer

Described as the “Destroyer of Worlds” and the “Eater of Stars”, the World Razer was an immensely powerful ancient entity that was trapped in the core of the prison world of Belsavis. Believed to have been imprisoned by the Rakatan Infinite Empire for the crime of consuming a thousand planets, it was also said in an inscription that if the World Razer were to escape, he would have instantly shattered the galaxy due to all his built-up anger. Furthermore, according to the cryptic warning, The World Razer was so powerful that it took the full power of the Infinite Empire to subdue it. Even then they could not kill him, so he was imprisoned on a planet that became the Belsavis facility.

The World Razer was Belsavis’s oldest prisoner and its prison was created to hold it. The mere groans of the World Razer were causing earthquakes on Belsavis. The only thing that could stop the World Razer from breaking free was the Burning Way, a system of volcanic magma vents crafted by the Infinite Empire to keep him chained to the planet. Having said all that, since most of what we know about the World Razer are speculations derived from cryptic inscriptions, and since we never got to see him in action, he is only getting the ninth spot.

8/20. The Bedlam Spirits

most powerful force users
8/20. The Bedlam Spirits

The Bedlam Spirits are a group of omnipotent entities that Princess Leia Organa encountered on planet Bedlam while being followed by Imperial Stormtroopers. It is not clear how many spirits are in total. However, there were at least four of them, known as Tilotny, Horlisshorliss, Coldandasine, and Splendid Ap. All four Spirits were created by Wutzek. Their age is unknown, but it is assumed that the Bedlam Spirits are older than the concept of time itself. This is considering that Tilotny has claimed to have invented the idea of time in the first place. (Twice) Also, it is hard to tell what genders are they, probably because they were the first to create matter and shapes. However, it is not that important, since they can all shapeshift and take the form of either a male or female.

Since the Bedlam Spirits are made of pure energy, they are immortal. Possibly multiversal, they seem to be able to casually manipulate mass and matter. For example, Splendid Ap could transport living being 8,000 years into the past on a whim. The Spirits’ reality-warping powers are considered impressive even by Wutzek’s standards, who is a top-tier Celestial. However, despite all their powers, the spirits are often ignorant of their powers. Also, they are prone to childish behavior, mainly playing around with their powers instead of applying them for good use.

7/20. Wutzek

Wutzek from star wars
7/20. Wutzek

A Force demon of unimaginable power, Wutzek is the last of his race. His kind once ruled the ancient universe with total evil. However, despite his powers, an evil-worshipping cult known as the Five imprisoned him for centuries within a dimensional paradox called the Angle Trap Cage. He was freed with the help of Chewbacca. Wutzek then proceeded to destroy the Angle Trap Cage and consumed the souls of the cult members. After he expanded to his true size it is believed that Wutzek busted the entire Hell Hoop star system, which is kind of a space Bermuda Triangle. This is, of course, an astounding feat. In another story, Wutzek is the one who created the Bedlam Spirits Tilotny, Horlisshorliss, Coldandasine, and Splendid Ap. He later planned to destroy them, but his children learned of his plot and ran away.

6/20. The Son and The Daughter of Mortis

most powerful force users in Star Wars
6/20. The Son and The Daughter of Mortis

Described as physical manifestations of The Force: The Daughter being light, The Son the dark, these two are hyper-powerful twin celestials who lived on the planet Mortis. They belonged to a race that reshaped the galaxy more than a hundred of thousand years before the current era. According to the story, The Son and the Daughter rose into their current form thanks to a pair of extremely powerful Force nexuses: the Font of Power and Pool of Knowledge. They were also considered the Architects, beings who have guided civilizations for thousands of years.

In several parts of the Star Wars galaxy, they have been worshipped as gods They have absolute mastery over the Force as they not only command their respective sides of the force but exist in a permanent state of Oneness with their sides. Together they have consistently shown to be more powerful than Abeloth. However, since each of them individually is less powerful than Abeloth, she will place higher on this list.

5/20. Darth Sidious

the most powerful force user
5/20. Darth Sidious

Darth Sidious is a natural prodigy of the Force. Sidious was capable of using every known Sith ability to its highest extent. His signature ability and his go-to for combat were the Force Lightning. He could unleash a torrent of lightning from his fingertips that are strong enough to incinerate normal men, bend lightsaber blades and light up a planet with its brightness On Exegol he unleashed an immense wave of Force lightning towards the sky which rapidly expanded enough to disable all the battleships of the Resistance. Darth Sidious was the only person in galactic history to be able to summon and control Force Storms which are gigantic hyperspace wormholes capable of devouring fleets and tearing surfaces off worlds.

Furthermore, he could create multiple storms across multiple star systems from thousands of light-years away. He could use telekinesis to crush buildings with such ease that the buildings are said to be “puny”. To add to these incredible Force powers, Sidious was gifted in lightsaber skills, having mastered all seven forms of lightsaber combat. In Combat, he moved so fast that only two Jedi could keep track of him: Yoda and Mace Windu. Sidious is the culmination of a millennium of Sith becoming stronger and stronger by the Rule of Two and was the strongest Sith Lord to ever come out of the Sith.

4/20. Grand Master Luke Skywalker

Grand Master Luke Skywalker
4/20. Grand Master Luke Skywalker

Grandmaster Luke Skywalker is Luke Skywalker in the Legends continuity. The Legend’s continuity is quite different than the one we see in the Disney film sequels. In the Legends continuity, in the years following the defeat of the Empire and the death of Palpatine/Sidious, Luke sought to rediscover any lost knowledge about the Force. Therefore, he traveled the galaxy, discovering abandoned Jedi and Sith temples, each possessing scraps of knowledge.

During those years Luke became far more powerful than Anakin Skywalker ever was. Capable of destroying entire armies of robots with one gesture of his hand, and even shielding himself with the Force from the blaster fire of Imperial walkers with almost no effort at all. He used his abilities to rebuild a new Jedi Order, creating a powerful force for the protection of the galaxy. Through intense training, he became a master of Force Projection, able to create an entire fleet of ships that were even detected by scanners!

His telekinesis became so developed that during the Yuuzhan Vong War, he was able to sustain a Black Hole while at the same time, he threw down basils into it. Once he used his telekinesis so he could not be moved, to the point he had become completely immovable. It was said that not even a supermassive Black Hole would’ve been able to move him. Using both the Light and the Dark Side, Luke manifested a red Force Lightning that had devastating effects not just on the target but everything in its path. To sum it up, Luke Skywalker from Legends was able to not only reach his full potential, but he explored the Force in ways that even the strongest Jedi had long forgotten.

3/20. Abeloth

most powerful force user in star wars
3/20. Abeloth

Drinking from the Well of Power and bathing in the Pool of Knowledge millennia ago, Abeloth gained phenomenal power. However, those actions corrupted her, transforming the once mortal woman who served the Ones into a twisted, evil, immortal entity. When the Ones discovered her crime, they imprisoned Abeloth within the Maw, a black hole cluster. When she finally escaped, she would immediately start to wreak havoc, sending the galaxy into chaos and turmoil. The essence of the Dark Side, Abeloth had many powers.

The master of disguise, she could shapeshift and morph into anything she wanted. Abeloth could consume the life energy of Forces-sensitive beings, killing them in the process and making herself stronger. She erased the City of Glass, and the thousands of Sith that lived there, with a mere scream…by accident. Grandmaster Luke Skywalker, the strongest Jedi ever, tried to confront Abeloth one-on-one in his prime and failed miserably. It was only when Luke joined forces with Darth Krayt that they were able to defeat Abeloth in the Duel. And it took all they had to succeed!

Despite her death, Luke and the Jedi were not convinced Abeloth was dead for good and thus began searching for the Dagger of Mortis, the one thing that could potentially kill her permanently. Luke claimed that Abeloth was twelve times more powerful than him. He also described Abeloth to be faster than him. She’s so overpowered that when fighting her, all Luke could do is slow her down for half a second. Even Luke was in awe of her power!

2/20. The Father of Mortis

The Father of Mortis is powerful
2/20. The Father of Mortis

Probably the most powerful Force user to ever live! The Father is the patriarch member of the Ones: a family of god-like Force users who are so strong that they have isolated themselves from the rest of the galaxy to prevent themselves from destroying it. The Father is the living incarnation of the Force. He has two children, who are known as the Son and the Daughter. The Son is the living incarnation of the Dark Side, and the Daughter is the incarnation of the Light side. The Father maintains an equilibrium between his children to prevent them from tearing the fabric of reality. At some point, he had to take his children away to planet Mortis and do everything in his power to stop their constant conflicts, because their power was so great that their battles could cause cataclysmic destruction across the entire Galaxy.

A Force god, the Father is all-powerful and there isn’t much that he can’t do. He is able to subdue his powerful children at various times with both telekinesis and lighting. Also, he blocked Anakin Skywalkers’ lightsaber with his bare hand and forced the blade back to its hilt, which says something about The Fathers’ mighty capabilities. It is also implied that he has defeated Abeloth in the distant past. According to the story Supernatural Encounters: The Trial and Transformation of Arhul Hextrophon, the Father is named Elegast.

1/20. The Whills

The Whills are powerful force users
1/20. The Whills

Who is the most powerful force user? Here is our verdict. The Whills are beings of unbelievable power in the Star Wars universe. They are microscopic single-celled lifeforms who are essentially God of the universe, and the will of the Force. Thanks to their symbiotic relationship with the midi-chlorians, they feed off the energy of the Force to control the universe. One way for the Whills to control the universe is to offer destinies to individuals. For example, as everybody knows, Anakin Skywalker was destined to be the Chosen One of the Force and to act as the tool by which balance was restored to the Force.

He was actually born to restore harmony to all of life by destroying those who violated the symbiosis of life – namely, users of the corruptive force of the Dark Side. However, like other individuals who were destined by the Whills, Anakin still had free will and could choose whether to follow his destiny or not. The midi-chlorians are in turn symbionts with all of life: they live in every single cell of every living thing and communicated to living beings the will of the Whills, which is the will of the Force.

The Whills control the Force and allow beings to access it through their midi-chlorians. They also somehow write the story of the universe creating and writing as they go. It is therefore clear that the Whills are the most powerful Force users in Star Wars. We can’t imagine anything that could effectively counter their power.

Hope you enjoyed this list and may the Force be with you!
