The League of Villains vs The Crime Syndicate

Supervillain Teams

In My Hero Academia anime series, The League of Villains is an evil group made up of powerful villains. Founded by All For One, once Japan’s most powerful supervillain, the League of Villains threatens to destroy the Hero Society. They are responsible for All Might’s retirement and for numerous attacks on U.A. High School, the pillars of Hero Society. Its known members are Tomura Shigaraki, Kurogirl, Gigantomachia, and Daruma Ujiko.

In DC Comics, The Crime Syndicate is a team of evil counterparts to the Justice League, from Earth 3. Their original membership included evil versions of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, and everyone’s favorite red superhero Flash.

What makes the DC Supervillain Team unique and cool is that their powers are vastly different from their Justice League equivalents. For example, Ultraman is an evil Superman, but what makes him interesting is that his powers are different from Superman. He gains strength from Kryptonite but is weak against the sun. Superwoman, the evil Wonder Woman, has the Lasso of Submission which makes her opponents surrender, instead of the Lasso of Truth.

The Brotherhood of Evil Mutants vs The Sinestro Corps

Supervillain Teams

In Marvel’s X-Men, the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants is a Marvel supervillain team devoted to the cause of mutant superiority over humans. Over time the team’s agenda gravitated towards either subjugating the human race to the mutants’ will or eliminating humanity.

The Brotherhood was founded by Magneto with the original members: Astra, Toad, Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch, and Mastermind. Magneto even tried to recruit Thor and Namor into his team, but both refused.

Of course, Magneto thinks his cause is just. Though he and his mutants commit great evil, they consider their actions acts of war against normal humans that would destroy the mutants or enslave them if they could.

In DC’s Green Lantern, The Sinestro Corps, are the supervillain equivalent of the Green Lantern Corps. While the Green Lantern Corps’ power is derived from the green energy of will, The Sinestro Corp’s power results from the emotional electromagnetic spectrum of fear. Their rings function on fear and their corpsmen can create fear through their very existence -viruses, monsters, criminals, etc.

The Yellow Lantern Corps creator, Sinestro, was the greatest Green Lantern of his time. He was later deprived of his ring, as he used some questionable methods to bring order into his sector. Thus, Sinestro betrayed the Green Lantern Corps and created the Sinestro Corps.
